According to the article "The Danger of Reality TV”.  by Timothy Sexton. Many young people love to watch TV, especially reality shows which send them bad messages and mold their minds.  Sometimes there is nothing most important for these young people than TV shows; young people don’t pay attention to anybody while they are watching TV. I think these TV shows make young people spend too much time watching TV more than focusing on education, spending time with their family or deal with a job according to a major.

     

      Young people don’t focus on education when they earn a lot of money. One of the bad messages TV shows send is that "Education is not necessary to fulfill the American dream". These messages make young people go to these shows and make a lot of money which makes them think that they don’t need to focus on education because tv shows make them think money is all they need in life but i think that these wrong mesages destroy young people's life because if they dont go to school, they are not going to be successful. For example: my cousin loves soccer, he watch TV shows about soccer all the time and he wants to be all the time playing soccer which made him make a lot of money and make him leave school and i think that by the time his ability ends he will not be able to do another kind of thing because he didnt get an education, he just spent a lot of time playing, that is why i thing that adults shouldn't allow young people spend too much time playing or watching TV shows

      On the other hand adults should encourage young people to pay more attention to finish school by not allowing them doing something that is not going to be for ever like making money in an easy way. For example if young people get a job on tv and they earn a lot of money. It is possible they dont want to go to school but Parents shouldnt allow this. Sometimes it is neccesary to force them to finish  college  because young people need to  learn how to face the difficulties without a college degree.

      Besides, it is most important to spend time having dinner with family than to spend time watching TV  shows that make young people to follow a wrong way. Parents should teach their children to spend time together as a family but it need to be  taught since children are too little because it is when they get things faster and parents need to remind them all the time that it is important to spend time together. For example: while the family is having dinner they can talk about how was their day.

       In conclusion, adults shouldn't allow young people to watch tv shows that send them bad messages or mold their minds, young people are easy to manipulate but it is better to manipulate them by going to school and graduating from college because if these young people pay more attention to watch tv or things that are not going to help them in the future they are not going to be succesful in life. There are too many difficulties if people dont finish college, difficulties like finding a job.

#6 The Truman show

    Life is the most wonderful thing in the world. Some people manipulate other's life which is not fear for anybody because everybody have the freedom to decide how to live, nobody have the right to decide for us. In the movie "The truman show" Cristoff created what he considered a "Perfect World" for Truman. Cristoff filmed Truman's every move for a tv show for almost all Truman's life since he was born. Truman was kept prisoner by Cristoff. I think that nobody has the right to decide how we have to live.

    Truman lived his life full of lies, everyday something new created to make him act for a tv show, live as a prisoner it is something that nobody want. When i lived with my parents, they used to take care of me, they decided things for me but that was because i was not able to know what was good for me. For example: I was not able to decide good things for me even at my age eighteen because i didnt know too much about life that was why my parents helped me but by the time i wanted to get a career, get married, or have kids my parents respected my decisions.

    However,Cristoff chose a wife for Truman, Cristoff made him to get married, get a house, he also wanted him to have kids. All this was sick because i think that Truman had the right to decide what kind of life to follow, he was not kid anymore. I dont imagine to have a life where everything is manipulated for another person.

    In my life, i decide whatever i want in life. For example: If i want to go to another country i just go, if i want to leave my job and get another one i do it because i have the freedom to make my own decisions i am not a kid anymore.

    In conclusion, nobody have the right to manipulate our life when we are able to make our own decisions. In life we have the freedom to choose the kind of life to follow even if we were wrong as when we are adults, we are still learning from our mistakes.

#5 I know the truth

In this world there are many ways to make people believe in unreal things. According to "I know the truth, so don't bother me with facts." many of us are easy to be deceived by rumors and lies, and when we heard something that contradict our belief, we reject the new information because we dont like to be told we are wrong.After some studies people had strong beliefs about there is a mosque at ground cero, which is not real because that was just a rumor that usually it is shown on tv or newspapers. I think that people are easy to be deceived by rumors and lies but i also think that they wouldnt change their belief because people are too proud and they love to be always right.

The article describe that even people do take time to learn facts, they dont change their beliefs and these beliefs become even strongly. I agree with this part of the article. When i lived with my father, he used to have strong beliefs about how good was the president of Peru and when someone tried to show him some bad informations about the president, my father didnt like to heard anything, and his beliefs become even more strongly, nobody couldnt change their beliefs.

However, there is something important that the article doesnt mention. It mentions about it is easy to deceive people with rumors and lies but i also thing that some people are too proud and stubborn. they love to be right all the time. that is why they dont accept to change their beliefs. For example, once my bestfriend heard that i said bad things about her and when i wanted to explain her that those were lies she didnt want to listen to me, she was too proud and stubborn.

In conclusion, I think that some  people love to be always right, they dont change their beliefs even thougth  they were wrong because they are too proud and stubborn. Sometimes this is a big problem because if they were wrong and people who love them are right, they would be always arguing.

#4 claim,reasons,thesis"I know the truth"

Claim:
People should be always open to new things in order to make their ideas more clearly.

Reasons:
-Some people who are not open mind think that they are always right even thougth they are wrong so they can make some mistakes when they have to make a decision.
-when they make bad decisions these can affect to their family or people they love.
-Besides they can lose people they love because it is not being always arguing with people we love.

Thesis:
People should be always open to new things in order to make their ideas more clearly because some people who are not open mind think that they are always right even thougth they are wrong so they can make some mistakes when they have to make a decision.

What difficulty did you have developing a thesis?
It is not so easy to develop an essay and the thesis is just a small part but the most important part in a essay because everything that we are going to write an essay depend on the thesis.

i think i need to work more on summaries and write with my own words about this summary.

#3 "The allegory of the cave summary"

According to "The allegory of the cave" Socrates wants to help Glaucon by showing him a picture to understand a philosophical idea. In this picture humans beings live in an underground den since their childhood, and have their legs and necks chained like prisoners. All they can see are shadows and some lights because of the fire in the den.  Socrates wanted to show Glaucon that all human beings live like these prisoners, and human beings only see their shadows or others' shadows. Socrates said to him: If one prisoner is liberated, he will suffer sharp pains, he will wanted to come back to the den but he will accept the reality and accustome to the new world. He also will pity the other prisoners.
In other words Socrates wanted Glaucon to understand that the idea of good appears last of all, and that is possible only after people's effort.
My world compared with Socrates' opinion is similar because i feel like a prisoner when i realize that i have not achieved all my dreams.

#2 Summary"I know the true"

According to the article"I know the truth, So don't bother me with facts" Humans are easily deceived by rumors, because they believe that there is a planned mosque at ground cero which is not real. In a study, 750 people believed at least one of the rumors about the proposed Islamic cultural center. So there are two conclusions: 1) it is easy to manipulate people's believe with insinuating pictures or quotes: 2) no many people are willing to reverse their opinion.
Even when  people take time to learn the facts and change their opinions, the effort often dont work because people dont like being told they are wrong so it could be simple ego. But some investigators are working to know how people can be so strong in their believes.
